Receiving/ Inventory Manager TC Logistics - 3.5 Bristol, PA Job Details Full-time $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Warehouse management system Forklift Team development RF scanner Full Job Description TC Logistics — Receiving & Inventory Manager PositionPosition Title Receiving & Inventory Manager TC Logistics - Bristol, PA (with collaboration across all TC locations) Position Summary The Receiving & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound freight, inventory control, warehouse scanning accuracy, putaway operations, pallet integrity, and receiving team performance across the warehouse operation. This role serves as the operational bridge between receiving, inventory, dock operations, order fulfillment, and customer service. The position requires strong leadership, system accuracy, urgency, organization, and the ability to scale warehouse processes using SOPs, scanners, automation, and labor management. This role is critical to maintaining customer trust, warehouse efficiency, SLA performance, and inventory integrity across all TC Logistics operations. The position directly supports TC Logistics' initiative toward becoming a fully scannable warehouse operation. Core Responsibilities1. Receiving Operations Management Oversee all inbound receiving operations: Containers LTL shipments Loose receiving FTL inbound freight Assign inbound containers and receiving projects to team members daily. Ensure all receipts are processed accurately and within customer SLA timelines. Coordinate inbound trucking schedules and receiving appointments. Maintain communication with trucking companies, warehouse staff, and management regarding inbound flow. Ensure proper unloading procedures and dock organization. Ensure receiving workflows match customer-specific SOPs and operational requirements. 2. Inventory Accuracy & Control Maintain accurate inventory locations and pallet counts at all times. Ensure all product movements are scanned correctly in Extensiv/WMS. Monitor and enforce scanning compliance across warehouse operations.
Conduct and oversee:
Cycle counts Inventory investigations Recounts Inventory reconciliations Product research Resolve stray inventory and location discrepancies. Ensure physical inventory always matches scanner/system inventory. Verify carton counts, pallet counts, and inventory locations before shipment release. Lead inventory integrity initiatives to reduce shrinkage and operational errors. 3. Putaway & Warehouse Flow Management Manage direct putaway operations and inventory shifting across warehouse locations.Ensure:
Correct pallet placement Accurate location assignments Clean aisle organization Efficient warehouse flow Coordinate condensing projects and pallet reorganizations to maximize warehouse space utilization. Ensure receiving teams maintain organized staging areas and putaway zones. Monitor replenishment flow and pallet accessibility. 4. Team Leadership & Labor Management Lead and supervise: Receiving associates Inventory associates Forklift operators Putaway teams Temporary labor staff Assign daily responsibilities and balance labor resources based on inbound volume. Ensure fair and efficient container crew rotation. Monitor productivity, scanning compliance, and SOP adherence.Train and coach employees using:
SOPs Screenshares Hands-on training Video tutorials Scanner workflows Hold employees accountable for: Safety Accuracy Cleanliness Operational standards Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, discipline, and performance evaluations. 5. Scanner & System Compliance Enforce strict scanner usage across all receiving and inventory operations.Ensure:
All moves are scanned immediately No physical movement occurs without system updates Inventory locations remain accurate in real time Support TC Logistics' fully scannable warehouse initiative. Troubleshoot scanner and WMS issues with management and support teams. Monitor scanning reports and operational trends to identify process failures. 6. Customer & SLA Management Support customer-specific receiving workflows and operational expectations. Ensure inbound processing meets agreed lead times and customer SLAs. Communicate inventory shortages, damages, or discrepancies proactively.Coordinate with Operations Management regarding:
Customer escalations Missing inventory Urgent inbound projects Overflow capacity Work closely with customer-facing teams to ensure operational transparency. 7. SOP Development & Process Improvement Create, improve, and enforce receiving and inventory SOPs. Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable operational improvements.Develop warehouse systems that:
Improve accountability Increase speed Reduce errors Improve labor efficiency Assist with automation initiatives and workflow optimization projects. Train staff on updated procedures and process improvements. Daily ResponsibilitiesOpening Responsibilities Review inbound schedule and receiving priorities Assign containers and receiving staff Review overnight inventory issues Verify scanners/equipment are operational Review dock organization and staging space Throughout the Day Monitor receiving progress Verify scanning compliance Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies Coordinate putaway flow Monitor labor allocation Communicate inbound updates to management Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization End-of-Day Responsibilities Verify all receipts are completed or documented Confirm pallet counts and system accuracy Ensure equipment is plugged in: Forklifts Scanners Walkies Verify dock and warehouse security Provide EOD operational updates Communicate outstanding risks/issues to management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Receiving & Inventory Manager will be evaluated on: Inventory accuracy % Receiving turnaround times SLA compliance Scanning compliance Putaway speed Dock organization Cycle count accuracy Labor efficiency Overtime management Customer escalations/errors Damage reduction Safety compliance Warehouse cleanliness and organization Operational StandardsNon-Negotiables All inventory movements must be scanned Pallet counts must be 100% accurate No unlocated product No unscanned moves Aisles must remain clean and organized Safety standards must be enforced at all times Product must be handled carefully and professionally Required Skills & QualificationsPreferred Experience 3PL warehouse experience Receiving/inventory management experience WMS experience (Extensiv preferred) RF scanner experience Forklift/reach truck experience Team leadership experience Inventory control and reconciliation experience Technical Skills WMS systems Google Sheets/Excel Scanner troubleshooting Warehouse reporting Operational tracking systems Inventory auditing Soft Skills Leadership Communication Accountability Organization Problem-solving Urgency Attention to detailAdaptability Reporting Structure Reports To:
