Summary:
Support the day-to-day operations of the Materials Management department. This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare supply chain operations, including inventory control, purchasing, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives. The intern will work closely with department leaders and staff to ensure supplies and equipment are available to support patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock replenishment. Support data collection and analysis related to supply utilization and cost savings opportunities. Help maintain accurate item master and inventory records. Participate in process improvement projects within supply chain and logistics operations. Assist with reviewing purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials as needed. Observe and learn about contracting, sourcing, and distribution functions. Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Interest in healthcare supply chain operations.
Schedule and Duration:
Temporary internship position. Flexible schedule based on academic requirements and department needs.
Expected duration:
