This position oversees end-to-end logistics coordination that includes placement strategy, transportation planning, and operational execution while ensuring donations move efficiently and align with organizational priorities. The Manager also works to strengthen systems and processes to improve scalability, consistency, and overall program impact.
Coordinate donation placement strategy, transportation planning, and logistics execution.
Ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of donated goods.
Balance urgency, cost, partner capacity, and impact to prioritize placements.
Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize waste and disruption.
Build and maintain strong, responsive relationships across all stakeholders.
Ensure a high standard of service and communication.
Monitor operational workflows and coordination processes.
Track key performance metrics (e.g., volume recovered, timeliness, cost efficiency).Collaborate cross-functionally with the Large Donation team for seamless execution.
Align on priorities and escalate complex or high-risk issues as needed.
Support implementation of strategic initiatives at the operational level.
Demonstrated experience managing procurement, sourcing, donor engagement, or partnership development, ideally involving large-scale or in-kind donations.
Proven experience overseeing logistics and distribution operations, including coordination with warehouses, transportation providers, and multi-partner delivery networks.
Strong operational decision-making skills, with the ability to independently manage competing priorities and drive timely, effective outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work across donors, nonprofits, and the large donation team.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including overseeing staff, cross-functional teams, or volunteers, with accountability for performance and results.
Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, I3PL portals) Ability and willingness to work West Coast business hours 8am-4pm PT to support partners and operations. Commitment to the organizations mission and values.
While physical activity is limited, the role involves repetitive hand movement and sustained screen time. Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. The ability to work West Coast business hours is required to support partners across multiple time zones.

Position Overview:
The Manager, Large Donation Operations plays a central role in executing and optimizing our Large Donation Program. This role is responsible for translating food sourcing opportunities into timely, cost-effective donation placements while maintaining a high level of service for donors and nonprofit partners.This position oversees end-to-end logistics coordination that includes placement strategy, transportation planning, and operational execution while ensuring donations move efficiently and align with organizational priorities. The Manager also works to strengthen systems and processes to improve scalability, consistency, and overall program impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Operations & ExecutionOversee day-to-day operations of large-scale donation logistics across the U.S. and Canada.Coordinate donation placement strategy, transportation planning, and logistics execution.
Ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of donated goods.
Decision-Making & Problem Solving:
Independently manage multiple concurrent donation opportunities.Balance urgency, cost, partner capacity, and impact to prioritize placements.
Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize waste and disruption.
Partnership Management:
Serve as a primary point of contact for donors, nonprofit partners, and logistics providers.Build and maintain strong, responsive relationships across all stakeholders.
Ensure a high standard of service and communication.
Oversight & Continuous Improvement:
Ensure compliance with food safety and handling standards.Monitor operational workflows and coordination processes.
Track key performance metrics (e.g., volume recovered, timeliness, cost efficiency).Collaborate cross-functionally with the Large Donation team for seamless execution.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Director of Large Donation & Procurement and Program Manager.Align on priorities and escalate complex or high-risk issues as needed.
Support implementation of strategic initiatives at the operational level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred).5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, food distribution, nonprofit operations, or a related field, with increasing responsibility in operational leadership roles.Demonstrated experience managing procurement, sourcing, donor engagement, or partnership development, ideally involving large-scale or in-kind donations.
Proven experience overseeing logistics and distribution operations, including coordination with warehouses, transportation providers, and multi-partner delivery networks.
