Standard Hauling is hiring an Operations Manager to support our growing truckload operations. Ideal candidates will have recent experience in load planning, dispatch, exceptions handling, and driver support/management. We are hiring now in an effort to get ahead of new business that will grow our fleet from 65 to 100 drivers by the fall of '26. We would rather hire early and build our support structure than ask our people to absorb growth until we bring in help. Standard Hauling is an asset-based contract & dedicated truckload carrier based in Duncan, SC. Standard operates relay yards in Newport, TN and Jefferson, GA. We recently started construction on a new terminal in the lowcountry of SC near the intersection of I-26 and I-95.
Job Description:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for execution of daily freight movements: load planning, dispatch, execution, as well as customer communication related to load movements and exceptions. They will be providing management support to logistics coordinators daily. The OM will report to the Director of Operations and will work closely with other management as well as ownership.

Difference:
Standard has made, and continues to make, significant investments in technology and automation. Any candidate for this position will show initiative by learning to use our tech to its fullest potential while also looking for other opportunities to make our operation more efficient. Work with Logistics Coordinators to improve spot fleet efficiency. Standard has a goal of maintaining a spot fleet equivalent to roughly 10% of our contract fleet. This will help us maintain consistent capacity for our customers while providing an additional revenue source. The ideal candidate will have some experience booking and executing loads from the spot market. Ops support for CCO, the person responsible for Sales and Accounts, as we onboard new business. This typically involves meetings with operations and dock level contacts as both ends of the lanes to ensure we are aligned prior to moving freight. Assist Safety Manager with screening new drivers by providing operations-focused insight. Ensure prospective hires understand the role they will be asked to perform and the expectations regarding our culture.
Qualifications:
AT LEAST 3
years in transportation operations management within the last 5 years Direct experience with TMS and telematics Will need to provide references for both customers and drivers you have worked with in the last few years while in a transportation operations role Examples of a successful exception handling process (load failures, breakdowns, etc.). Compensation and Benefits:
Our compensation structure for management employees is structured but negotiable. Our aim is to tailor the package to meet the goals of the employee and their families. The total value of that package will determine feasibility. Pay will vary based on relevant experience. A candidate with proven results who is early in their Logistics career can expect $75-85k per-year. Candidates with more experience and a record of high-level execution and character could see significantly more. BCBS Health Insurance as well as all other usual coverages are available.
