About the Role The Logistics Cluster Lead (Local CPG's) role will be instrumental to deliver reliable service and drive stickiness with our customers to enable long-term growth. The role will heavily interact with commercial/sales leaders/site logistics/3PLs in the markets and key customers to generate deep insights to support the country cluster strategic priorities. Taking accountability for driving performance improvements in local supply chain activities and to deliver improved service and cost-to-serve.
This role will play a pivotal role in partnering with the respective Country cluster CSC Director to deliver upon the country cluster customer service & volume objectives and enable growth by driving excellence in execution and building strong relationships across the internal & external network (enabling the Next Level operating model)
Primary focus is on supporting the commercial business development of the country cluster by delivering reliable and responsiveness service for logistics at sites and distribution sites.
Owns and develops the Country cluster logistics strategy and route to market by identifying and balancing key drivers from an economic, industry, customer and competitive landscape perspective
Partnership with and leverage the GBS process towers & site logistics teams and act as an advocate for E2E integration and efficiency
Active relationship management and engagement with central planning & logistics functions, regional supply chain teams and operations. Primary point of contact for all logistic related items in the Country cluster.
Ensures local market intelligence and day-to-day operations are in line with global, regional and local goals (e.g. SLAs, budgets, lead times, …)
Owns the Cluster country logistics & service level
Actively participates in the demand validation and sign-off of the Country cluster CSC Director
Develops joint business plans with key customers and enables customer intimacy & proximity
Supports the development of robust weekly plans and forecast consumption assumptions; leads the country cluster logistics discussions in partnership with Country cluster CSC Director.
Be the SPOC of the Country cluster for any Global/Regional logistics projects
Ensure Global/Regional processes and policies are implemented and adhered to
Support with regional warehouse and transportation needs with Head of Logistics and the network strategy. Job Responsibilities Include Scope
Dedicated regional cluster business unit in Local CPG Sales and Specialties, USA
@200,000mT of annual sales volume
~350 Customers and ~780 SKUs
Country cluster logistics budget of approx. 50 million CHF
Service level, inventory and perfect order objectives in logistics support Oversees country cluster logistics
In Partnership with Country cluster CSC Director Inputs in monitoring market/customer intelligence and forecast enrichments
Support supply balancing activities related to demand shaping (and S&OEs)
Agree on a final S&OP and Budget demand plan and critical points to be escalated/resolved for Country cluster
Align with commercial teams key NPI and promotions/activations
Provide logistics demand visibility to the Head of Logistics to ensure capacity with carriers
Deliver performance reviews & intakes with Head of Logistics
Monitors adherence to OTIF and carrier performance
Oversees regional implementation of S&OP and S&OE decisions for logistics performance Oversees country cluster DC logistics
Inbound deliveries, finished goods shipping and product pickups
Manages transport & delivery issues
Transportation for liquid/solid transportation
Customs processing
3PL performance monitoring & tracking for logistics budget & drives logistics productivity and improvement projects
Partner with Head of Logistics and Local distribution strategy and warehouse needs (cost to serve) Oversees country cluster order fulfillment (logistics and customer care)
Order management (execution and invoicing)
3rd party operations and root cause analysis for refusals/returns
Transport purchase and invoicing, incl. effective reporting for refusals/returns
Recall strategy and product recalls (in close alignment with Crisis management teams)
Order changes / cancellations and resolution of customer complaints and logistics
Implementation and follow-up of agreed customer SLAs
Key stakeholder exchange, and action plans based on customer performance reviews
Supervises the handle of product availability (i.e. escalations, shortages)
Supervises the management of incomplete orders
Owns service level review and problem breakdown analysis for service hits for logistics
Directs GBS logistics process teams About You
Bachelors in any business / supply chain discipline
Proficient in English. French and/or Spanish is a plus
Strong communication & presentation skills
Commercially savvy and balanced professional (excels in expectation management)
Ability to lead and manage change in a complex environment
Travel requirements: 30%
Min 10+ years of overall experience including 5+ years of relevant domain experience in food distribution industry
Proactive and collaborative approach, demonstrated people leadership via direct and indirect influencing
Experience in leading customer facing functions set-up/scale-up/transformation
Critical thinking, ability to spot trends and work with large data, multiple stakeholders and challenging context
Direct experience in continuous improvement of logistics processes and systems
