Job description:JOB TITLE
Materials ManagerRESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain working relationship with current and potential supplier sales and technical representatives in a prompt, courteous, and objective manner Weekly forecast of unit and sales volumes for both production and financial planning Establish actions to support corporate inventory targets and resulting days on hand Communicate with Plant Manager, Purchasing, Production scheduler, Production and Shipping on a daily basis concerning the production needs for the facility. Participate in capacity planning for man, machine and outside resources Develop, implement and maintain an inventory control system that provides accurate inventory and on-hand information as required to meet production requirements. Maintain open communications with all customers and outside sources. Manage the Shipping, receiving and warehouse departments and the responsibilities and resources to ensure the obligations of the departments are efficiently accomplished. Including staff levels and action plans Analyze alternative methods to reduce cost and improve product delivery internally and externally. Assist the Plant Controller in the development of, and adherence to, a standard procedure for the disposal of obsolete materials. Oversee material planning and receiving activities. Maintain material planning and receiving processes. Including MRP and build plan requirements Provide daily schedules for all manufacturing areas, BM, Injection, paint and assembly. Develop build plan performance metrics, ie- percent schedule attainment and on time delivery Coach, train and supervise team members in above disciplines. Track QOS measurable. Participate in formal improvement team activities. Support all departmental and organizational improvement initiatives in order to achieve business objectives. Understand, administer and support company policies, programs and initiatives including, but not limited to: EEO, Workplace Violence, Harassment Free Workplace, Ethics, IATF 16949, ISO 14001. Participate in activities or any other organizational certifications as neededQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in Business Management or related field from an accredited university or related experience and education. Ability to travel, possibly overnight and/or overseas (15 % of the time). Ability to work any shift with overtime, possibly on short notice. Ability to establish and reach work goals. Excellent written and oral communications including telephone skills. Familiarity with computerized scheduling. Must maintain strict confidentiality of all business-related activities. Develop and mentor direct reports.Job Type:
