Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, Greenhouse Ministries provides food assistance, furniture and household items, educational opportunities, and supportive programs that help individuals and families thrive. We are seeking a mission-driven, organized, and people-focused Receiving Manager to oversee all incoming donations, food deliveries, and warehouse intake operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that donations and resources entrusted to Greenhouse Ministries are received efficiently, handled with care, and stewarded well to maximize community impact. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys working with people, managing logistics, coordinating volunteers, and creating organized systems. They should be comfortable balancing physical work, team leadership, and administrative responsibilities while representing Greenhouse Ministries with professionalism and Christ-like compassion. Position Summary The Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all incoming donations and deliveries at Greenhouse Ministries. This includes managing the warehouse donation door, coordinating donation pickups, receiving food deliveries, supervising intake staff and volunteers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient flow of items into the warehouse. This role is responsible for the receiving and intake process only and is not responsible for the sorting or processing of items after they have been received. Key Responsibilities Donation Receiving & Intake Oversee all incoming donations at the warehouse donation door Ensure donations are received, documented, and directed through established intake procedures Evaluate incoming donations for acceptance based on ministry guidelines Maintain an organized and efficient receiving area Ensure donors are greeted with professionalism, gratitude, and respect Pickup Coordination Manage and coordinate furniture and donation pickup schedules Communicate with donors regarding pickup requests and logistics Work closely with pickup drivers to ensure routes are efficient and completed successfully Assist with pickups as needed when staffing requires additional support Food Receiving Coordinate and receive food deliveries from community partners and food suppliers Verify deliveries and ensure accurate documentation of received items Work with warehouse staff to ensure food is received promptly and safely Volunteer & Team Leadership Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers assigned to receiving operations Provide daily leadership and direction to receiving staff and volunteers Foster a positive, mission-focused culture that reflects the values of Greenhouse Ministries Ensure volunteers feel welcomed, valued, and equipped for success Operations & Organization Develop and maintain efficient intake systems and workflows Track donation and receiving metrics as requested Ensure receiving areas remain clean, organized, and safe Assist with inventory tracking and reporting related to incoming donations Collaborate with warehouse leadership to improve operational efficiency Vehicle Operations Serve as a backup driver for the ministry's pickup truck and box truck when needed Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns Follow all safety procedures while operating ministry vehicles Qualifications Required Strong personal faith and alignment with the mission and values of a Christian nonprofit Excellent organizational and leadership skills Ability to supervise volunteers and staff effectively Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to lift and move furniture and donations as needed Comfortable working in a warehouse environment Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to operate or learn to operate a pickup truck and box truck Self-motivated and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously Proficiency with basic computer programs and email communication Preferred Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, receiving, or inventory management Experience supervising volunteers or staff Experience scheduling routes, pickups, or deliveries Experience working in nonprofit, ministry, retail, or warehouse environments What We're Looking For The right person for this role is someone who: Loves serving people and building relationships Thrives in organized, fast-paced environments Can lead volunteers with patience and encouragement Takes ownership of problems and finds solutions Understands that every donation represents an opportunity to impact someone's life Wants to use their skills to advance the mission of Greenhouse Ministries Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a warehouse environment throughout the day Ability to assist with loading and unloading furniture and donated goods as needed
