In this role, you will oversee global freight forwarding, customs compliance, warehousing, and logistics service providers — ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of equipment and materials that power our seismic and geophysical projects worldwide. You will collaborate with operations, procurement, and project management teams across international locations to drive performance, reduce costs, and deliver operational excellence in the field. Key Responsibilities (Responsibilities are representative but not all-inclusive) Strategy & compliance Develop and implement global logistics strategies ensuring efficient, compliant movement of equipment and materials worldwide. Lead all international and domestic transportation — freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance, and import/export compliance. Adhere to and champion the Code of Conduct, Business Ethics Policy, FCPA Policy, and all company policies. Daily operations & vendor management Manage daily shipment planning, tracking, and delivery to meet project timelines; coordinate closely with procurement and project management. Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs; conduct regular vendor performance reviews against SLAs and KPIs. Approve invoices, validate freight charges, and analyze cost variances against budget. Oversee global warehousing, distribution, inventory management, packaging, and documentation. Equipment & asset management Manage the global equipment pool — track asset locations, utilization, and financial impact; minimize idle time and unnecessary rental costs. Ensure safe, compliant movement, storage, and tracking of seismic equipment, vehicles, marine equipment, and other mission-critical assets. Proactively engage with operations teams to anticipate equipment needs and align logistics planning with operational schedules. Project & field logistics Lead logistics planning and execution for project mobilization, demobilization, redeployment, and closeout across land, marine, and remote operations. Coordinate support for remote camps, staging areas, fuel supply, accommodation movements, and critical spares. Support country start-up planning — customs pathways, local-content requirements, in-country agents, bonded warehouses, and approved transport providers. Risk, reporting & visibility Maintain logistics risk registers and contingency plans covering critical shipments, remote constraints, weather delays, customs holds, and port congestion. Own logistics reporting, shipment visibility, inventory accuracy, and KPI dashboards using ERP, TMS, WMS, and project control systems. People leadership Lead, mentor, and develop logistics coordinators and personnel, fostering a high-performance team culture with strong operational discipline. What you bring 8-12 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management. Prior background in project logistics, energy, geophysical, or industrial sectors is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of global supply chain principles, freight forwarding, and international shipping documentation. In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, dangerous goods transport requirements, and HS code classification. Experience negotiating and managing contracts with carriers, 3PLs, and freight forwarders. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret logistics data, KPIs, and cost performance metrics. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-country logistics operations in remote or challenging environments. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — able to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and global partners. Proficiency with ERP, TMS, WMS, or freight-forwarder portals; strong data and reporting capabilities. Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of professional development and experience. SAExploration is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
