POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing daily inventory operations, ensuring accurate material control, and supporting manufacturing through timely and efficient material staging. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on operational involvement, including forklift operation and physical material handling. The Inventory Manager is also responsible for maintaining strict adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to ensure proper inventory rotation, minimize obsolescence, and support overall product quality. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, clear communication, sound decision-making, and a high level of organization, accountability, and dependability in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following (other duties may be assigned)
  • Lead and manage all inventory control operations, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with company standards
  • Supervise, coach, and develop inventory personnel to drive team performance, productivity, and adherence to processes
  • Ensure all guidelines, procedures, specifications, and reporting requirements are consistently followed and executed to achieve operational success
  • Oversee incoming receiving operations, ensuring materials are accurately received, verified, labeled, and properly stored
  • Operate a forklift to safely move, store, and stage materials while maintaining compliance with safety standards and best practices
  • Coordinate and execute the picking of components and staging of materials for interfacility transfers and delivery to manufacturing locations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain inventory accuracy within the ERP system through transaction discipline, timely updates, and system integrity
  • Perform and oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and manual inventory adjustments, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved
  • Enforce strict adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to support product quality and minimize obsolete or aged inventory
  • Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies, root causes, and process gaps, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Partner cross-functionally with production, shipping, receiving, and quality teams to ensure seamless material flow and operational alignment
  • Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to track, analyze, and report key inventory metrics and performance indicators
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, process efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and operational standards.
  • Understand objectives and work with plant management and employees in a professional manner to achieve goals and continuously improve quality.
  • Promoting a Lean Manufacturing Culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support, with prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to analyze data and maintain accurate records
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, take ownership, and solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with plant leadership and facility employees
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy and precision
  • Dependable and punctual, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and drive results
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain reliability and accountability
  • Strong teamwork mindset with a focus on internal and external customer needs, professionalism, and integrity
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure compliance with safety and company policies
  • Support audits and reporting requirements
  • Assist with process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position operates primarily in a warehouse and inventory-focused environment supporting manufacturing operations
  • This role requires working in areas with limited climate control, where exposure to varying temperatures may occur
  • Employees may be exposed to heat during warmer months and cold conditions during cooler months, depending on the facility and season
  • Work is carried out around material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, with regular movement throughout the facility
  • The position involves a combination of office-based tasks and active warehouse floor presence
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment with frequent interaction between departments

$50,000.00 per year
