Our shop runs fast, our projects are complex, and our standards are high. We're looking for an operations leader who thrives in that environment, not someone who needs it to slow down for them. Position Summary The Shop Operations & Logistics Manager owns the non-fabrication engine of our shop. That means inventory, tooling, fleet, and outbound delivery logistics are yours to run. You'll manage 1-3 direct reports, set the pace for your team, and interface daily with fabrication leads and project managers to keep materials and resources flowing without friction. This is a highly dynamic role in a working fabrication environment. It rewards people who can think on their feet, set priorities under pressure, and hold a team accountable without being asked twice. To be blunt, we are looking for immediate leadership and ownership of the role, and the entirety of this scope, with a high level of accountability for outcomes. Anything less will fail.
Key Responsibilities Inventory and Materials Management:
Own the full cycle of receiving, labeling, stocking, and reordering for aluminum, steel, hardware, and shop supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records and anticipate material needs ahead of production schedules rather than reacting to shortages. Tooling Oversight:
Manage tool room organization, track tool condition and availability, coordinate maintenance and replacement, and ensure fabricators always have what they need when they need it. Fleet and Delivery Coordination:
Schedule and coordinate outbound deliveries and freight, manage fleet readiness, and ensure delivery timelines align with project commitments. Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts before they become job-site problems. Warehouse Operations:
Stage materials for fabricators and install teams, maintain rack systems, manage scrap and waste, oversee yard organization, and operate forklifts and material-handling equipment. Maintain compliance with WA State L&I and OSHA requirements. Team Leadership :
Supervise and direct 1-3 warehouse support staff. Set expectations, assign daily priorities, hold your team accountable, and step in to solve problems rather than escalate them. Required Qualifications 5 or more years of direct experience in warehouse operations, shop operations, or logistics coordination in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment. Candidates with fewer years but highly relevant scope will be considered on a case by case basis. Forklift certification or demonstrated ability to certify within 30 days of hire. Hands-on operation of material handling equipment in a warehouse or shop environment required. OSHA 30 Certification within 60 days of Hire 2+ years of fleet management experience, including scheduling vehicle use, tracking availability, and managing basic maintenance follow-through across a multi-vehicle operation. 5 years of logistics/shipping experience Proven ability to manage inventory systems end to end — receiving, stocking, labeling, cycle counts, reorder thresholds — in a multi-SKU environment with metal, hardware, and shop supply categories. 5 years of leadership experience, managing teams directly with demonstrated experience managing or supervising direct reports in a hands-on industrial setting. Must have the ability to set expectations, assign priorities, and hold staff accountable without escalating routine issues upward. Experience with digital inventory software and comfort learning new platforms. Familiarity with inFlow or comparable inventory management systems is a plus and will be weighted in evaluation. Experience coordinating outbound freight, delivery scheduling, and carrier communication with direct accountability for on-time performance. Physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs, work on concrete floors, and operate safely in an active fabrication environment with overhead hazards, heavy equipment, and metal stock. Basic to intermediate computer proficiency including spreadsheets, digital receiving logs, and the ability to navigate multiple software platforms simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Experience with any combination of the following platforms: BuilderTrend, ServiceTitan, inFlow Inventory, Spireon, or Keycafe. Direct experience with two or more of these is a strong differentiator. Background in custom metal fabrication, architectural metalwork, or a construction trades supply environment where material specs, lead times, and project staging are part of daily operations. Experience managing a mixed fleet of 15 or more vehicles including both dedicated delivery units and general company use vehicles, with responsibility for scheduling, availability tracking, and maintenance coordination. Prior experience building or rebuilding operational systems — inventory processes, delivery workflows, tool room organization — in an environment where those systems did not previously exist or were inadequate. Experience interfacing with project managers, estimators, or production leads to align material staging and logistics with active project timelines. Associate degree or vocational training in logistics, operations management, supply chain, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in full. Working knowledge of WA State L&I regulations and OSHA 1926 or general industry safety standards as they apply to warehouse and shop environments. This is not a role for someone who prefers a steady, predictable routine. Our pace is fast, our projects change, and we need someone who sees that as the job, not a problem to solve. If you're ambitious and want real ownership of a highly complex role, this is for you! Job Type:
