ABOUT THE POSITION
Fairchild Equipment, Inc. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Parts Manager to lead the operations of our Southern Division Parts Department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts operations, including inventory management, purchasing, customer service, staff development, and financial performance. The successful candidate will ensure the department operates efficiently, supports internal and external customers, and contributes to the overall success of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Direct and oversee daily operations of the Parts Department to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service. Lead, coach, and develop parts department team members to maximize performance, engagement, and professional growth. Establish department goals, objectives, and performance metrics, and monitor progress toward achieving them. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Manage inventory levels to ensure parts availability while maintaining optimal inventory turns and minimizing obsolescence. Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies and inventory control processes. Monitor stocking levels, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency. Ensure proper security and handling of parts inventory and assets. Partner closely with Service and Sales departments to ensure timely availability of parts for internal repairs and customer needs. Develop and maintain customer service standards that promote high levels of customer satisfaction. Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally. Support team members with technical guidance and product knowledge as needed. Prepare, manage, and maintain the annual parts department operating budget. Monitor departmental expenses, gross profit, and overall financial performance. Implement pricing and merchandising strategies that support profitability and market competitiveness. Analyze reports and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to parts operations and sales. Manage employee scheduling, payroll review, and departmental staffing needs. Maintain accurate records, reporting, and operational documentation. Support company initiatives, policies, and safety programs. Partner with the Safety Manager to promote and support company safety initiatives, ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, and foster a culture of safety throughout the Parts Department. Actively participate in safety meetings, training programs, audits, and continuous improvement efforts related to workplace safety. Perform additional duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 5-10+ years of technical training preferred. Knowledge of forklift/heavy equipment industry is preferred. 10+ years of supervisory role. Ability to drive 50% of the time. Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance. Intermediate computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Adapt and work in a fast pace environment.

The conditions the worker will be submitted to in this position: The worker is subject to environmental conditions with activities that normally would occur indoors. The worker is occasionally required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
