POSITION SUMMARY
The Materials Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods. This role ensures materials are available to meet production schedules, maintain accurate inventory records, and supports efficient operations through coordination with purchasing, production and the logistics team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Issue materials to production lines and ensure timely replenishment. Coordinate with purchasing to order materials based on production forecasts and demand. Track material usage and investigate discrepancies or variances. Perform cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials. Work closely with production to support workflow and minimize downtime. Manage material movement within the facility using the ERP system. Assist in developing and improving material handling and inventory control processes. Maintain documentation related to material transactions and inventory records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience High school diploma and 2 years of materials management experience or equivalent education and experience. Familiarity with ERP systems. Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift operating. Schuette Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
