Unalaska, Alaska Purpose of This Document This job description has been created by the Executive Director of Human Resources for staff clarity to define the duties, reporting relationships, and expectations of the Transportation Coordinator. It clarifies that this position provides supervisory oversight of assigned directors and staff for program alignment, compliance, and operational accountability. Position Overview The Transportation Coordinator will support the Project Manager in implementing the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska's Strengthening Transportation Resilience on the Island of Unalaska by assisting with setting up the project plan, organizing stakeholder meetings, scheduling team meetings, and handling administrative details. The Coordinator will assist in daily management tasks, preparing reports, arranging meetings, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring timely communication among stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Provides administrative support for Transportation Resilience initiatives under the Special Projects Department Helps ensure compliance with applicable tribal and federal regulations by efficiently supporting the preparation of work Coordinate and work closely with the Project Manager to ensure priorities are met and reported as required by the funding agency P.O. Box 334 Unalaska, Alaska 99685 (907) 581-2920 FAX (907) 581-3644 Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent At least two years of general office, coordination, or administrative experience. Must have strong oral and written communication skills Valid Driver's License. Must pass a drug test. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). Must reside in the community of Unalaska Previous GIS Experience is preferred Experience working with tribal communities or in rural settings is preferred
