Job Title Director, Alabama Traffic Safety Center Position Number TBD Division Academic Affairs/Provost - ACA Department Alabama Traffic Safety Center FLSA Exempt Salary Grade 213 Salary Classification Admin/Professional Annual Salary Range $58,943 - $80,744 Hourly Salary Range Employment Status Full Time 12 Mos Regular General Description The purpose of this position is to administer and coordinate Alabama Traffic Safety Center (ATSC) activities, programs, classes, and functions. Essential Job Duties Administer and coordinate all ATSC activities, programs, classes, and functions. Collaborate with internal and external personnel to implement and maintain services and programs. Recommend and implement policies, procedures and actions related to the legislative mandates of the ATSC. Schedule defensive driving/motorcycle classes and maintain a master calendar for all ATSC activities. Develop and monitor budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related financial activities to ensure that allocations are correct, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed. Prepare the Annual Report, Unit Planning and Assessment Report. Participate in University meetings and workshops to assure the ATSC is operating within university guidelines and mission statement. Research and maintain current trends in traffic safety and technology for the purpose of communicating information in the various programs conducted by ATSC personnel. Oversee vehicle/motorcycle/trailers preventive maintenance programs and activities to ensure ATSC vehicles/motorcycles/trailers are maintained in a safe and effective operating condition. Serve as liaison with the state legislature and other governmental agencies. Maintain adequate staffing. Write grants to obtain additional funding for program expansion. Responsible for inventory and maintenance of the Traffic Safety Center facilities. Teaching responsibilities. Provide leadership, evaluate, and supervise direct reports in performing duties as charged. Education and Experience The educational requirement for this position is: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred Education substituted for experience?

Familiarity with Motorcycle Safety Training and the MSF Curriculum is preferred. Experience substituted for education?
