Truck Driver Dispatcher Sand and Gravel

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Truck Driver Dispatcher for our Sand and gravel Trucks. We are located in Chandler Arizona. The best candidate for this position be able to coordinate and manage the efficient scheduling and dispatching of freight and drivers. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. Your expertise in transportation management systems, logistics, and analysis will drive operational excellence, enhance supply chain efficiency, and support our commitment to outstanding service. Responsibilities Coordinate daily dispatching of truck drivers, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and route plans using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GPS, GIS, and other routing tools to optimize routes for fuel efficiency, safety, and timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining clear and professional phone etiquette while providing instructions or updates. Monitor freight shipments through shipping & receiving logs, freight tracking systems, and data entry into AS400 or other enterprise platforms. Collaborate with supply chain teams to plan transportation logistics, including 3PL (third-party logistics) providers and fleet management. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements or cost savings in freight movement. Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, delivery statuses, and incident reports to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Skills Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400. Proficiency in GPS navigation tools, GIS software, and transportation planning applications. Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams. Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating freight routes, delivery performance metrics, and supply chain data. Experience with dispatching freight and comunicating with all team members in the organization. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records related to transportation planning and truck movements.
