Job Description

The Fleet Manager oversees the strategy, management, administration and maintenance of the Operating Unit's (OU) pool, project and company assigned vehicle (CAV) fleet. The Fleet Manager will oversee the OU fleet across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico in accordance with the Jacobs Fleet Policy. The fleet profile includes trucks, passenger cars, and special-purpose vehicles owned by both Jacobs and clients. •This position can sit in any Jacobs location in the United States. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end fleet oversight, including vehicle procurement, maintenance, scheduling, and lifecycle management for pool, project, and company-assigned vehicles across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring compliance with Jacobs Fleet Policy. Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term fleet strategy aligned with business objectives, including the expansion of managed fleet services globally. Partner with business leaders to support and deliver investor commitments, including obligations associated with the Jacobs Corporate Bond. Establish, implement, and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs by building strong relationships with approved vendors and service providers. Ensure fleet compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate records, inspections, and documentation. Develop, manage, and forecast annual and long-range fleet budgets in collaboration with Project Controls, emphasizing cost efficiency and financial accountability. Oversee fleet cost allocation and recovery processes to ensure timely cost recognition, alignment with final cost objectives, and elimination of stranded or suspended costs. Lead driver safety and training initiatives, including compliance monitoring, inspections, and ensuring all fleet equipment is safe and operational. Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet and transportation matters and collaborate across Operating Units to align fleet practices and resolve issues. Develop and maintain fleet emergency preparedness plans and ensure drivers are trained and prepared to respond effectively during emergency or crisis situations. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fleet management, transportation, asset management, or a related operational role. Experience managing vehicle fleets, including maintenance programs, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Experience supporting budgets, cost controls, and financial accountability. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to travel as needed to support fleet operations across multiple locations. Ideally, you'll also have Experience managing fleets across multiple locations or regions. Background supporting fleet operations in construction, utilities, engineering, or similar operational environments. Experience with driver safety programs, compliance initiatives, or emergency preparedness. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive cost efficiency and operational improvements.
