Fleet Manager Position Summary A growing transportation organization is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, compliance, and performance of a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles, primarily passenger vans. This role is responsible for ensuring vehicle reliability, minimizing downtime, managing vendor relationships, and supporting safe, efficient transportation operations across multiple markets. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, mechanically inclined, and experienced in managing fleet maintenance programs, vehicle compliance, telematics, and driver support. Key Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance and operation of a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, registrations, and licensing Manage relationships with repair shops, dealerships, roadside assistance providers, and other vendors Monitor fleet utilization, fuel usage, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance Track and respond to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and service issues Ensure compliance with company safety standards, DOT requirements, and applicable transportation regulations Manage telematics systems, GPS tracking, and fleet reporting tools Support onboarding and training related to vehicle policies and fleet procedures Assist with vehicle procurement, replacement planning, and asset management Maintain accurate fleet records, service documentation, and reporting metrics Work closely with operations leadership to minimize downtime and support transportation performance goals Qualifications 3+ years of fleet management, transportation operations, or vehicle maintenance experience Experience managing light-duty fleets, passenger vans, or transportation vehicles preferred Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and fleet operations Experience with telematics, GPS systems, and fleet management software Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare transportation, logistics, NEMT, courier, utility, or service fleets ASE, fleet management, or transportation certifications are a plus Experience managing vendor contracts and fleet budgets Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Bonus opportunity Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Company vehicle or vehicle allowance may be available Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding organization
Pay:
