Full-Time Job Summary KC Logistics is seeking a dynamic, results-driven OTR Fleet Manager to join our leadership team in Princeton, IN. This critical role oversees the execution and performance of our long-haul transportation operations, serving as the key connection between internal fleet operations and our external carrier network. Key Responsibilities Fleet & Dispatch Management Manage long-haul drivers and oversee daily dispatch operations across the KC Terminal Network Optimize route planning to maximize efficiency and align with company objectives Forecast driver and equipment needs based on freight volume and market conditions Maintain oversight of trailer fleet utilization, ensuring proper allocation to meet demand Carrier Relations & Negotiation Build and manage relationships with outside carrier partners Negotiate rates and service expectations to ensure cost-effective, reliable performance Act as the primary contact for carrier issues, resolving time-sensitive challenges such as missed pickups or delays Network Communication & Support Serve as a central communication hub across terminals, drivers, and partners Collaborate with internal teams to resolve coverage gaps, driver shortages, and equipment needs Identify operational inefficiencies and guide improvements to meet scheduling and service standards Performance & Strategy Monitor and manage fleet performance to meet and exceed key KPIs Handle operational exceptions with urgency, including delays and surge support needs Provide regular updates to the Director of Operations on fleet status, network health, and improvement initiatives Qualifications Proven experience in OTR/long-haul fleet management or logistics operations Strong understanding of route optimization and terminal network coordination Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage external carrier relationships Skilled in handling high-pressure, real-time operational challenges Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect internal teams and external partners Data-driven mindset with a focus on performance metrics and continuous improvement Why Join KC Logistics?
