We are looking for a motivated and experienced General Manager with DOT Transportation experience to join our dynamic team and help us continue our growth trajectory. Someone who is a strong self-starter that is results driven with the desire for future career growth. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to lead, manage and develop relationships with DOT CDL drivers and increase overall driver satisfaction to improve safety and driver retention. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods, maintaining clear communication with drivers, and resolving any issues that may arise during transit. The ability to stay organized, multitask, and make quick decisions will be key to success in this role.
Transportation Manager Essential Functions:
Lead and direct a team of professional CDL-B drivers Manage a high energy dynamic driver operation. Manage Daily Service Requirements and Client Relationships Manage all transportation and logistics for shipments to customers Integrate our transportation services seamlessly into our customers supply chain Monitor transportation costs and target areas that yield improvements and cost savings Provide strategic planning to support customer's regional expansion Actively work towards improving productivity and efficiency. Investigate damages, accidents, and other transportation related issues. Provide accurate and timely reports Perform analysis of route and driver performance. Ensure routing solutions comply with DOT hours of service and customer needs. Coordinate dispatch operations and provide driver support. Provide timely and accurate customer communication. Advancement Transportation Manager Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of transportation or logistics management experience Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and develop associates into an effective, highly motivated results oriented team Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude Creative problem solving skills and ability to evaluate multiple solutions to make sound decisions Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence positive outcomes Must have experience with TMW software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, specifically strong excel skills Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast paced environment Lily Transportation believes people are our greatest asset.
