MOT Manager / Maintenance of Traffic Manager Job Summary We are seeking an experienced MOT Manager to oversee and manage Maintenance of Traffic operations for roadway, utility, electrical, and infrastructure construction projects. The MOT Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring traffic control activities to ensure work zones are safe, compliant, efficient, and properly maintained. This position requires strong knowledge of traffic control standards, construction field operations, safety regulations, and coordination with project managers, inspectors, crews, subcontractors, and government agencies. Key Responsibilities Manage all Maintenance of Traffic operations for assigned projects. Review project plans, MOT drawings, traffic control plans, permits, and specifications. Coordinate daily traffic control needs with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and field crews. Ensure all traffic control setups comply with approved plans, MUTCD requirements, local/state agency standards, and project specifications. Schedule and oversee MOT crews, equipment, signage, cones, barrels, arrow boards, message boards, lane closures, and detours. Perform field inspections to confirm proper setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices. Identify and correct unsafe or non-compliant traffic control conditions. Coordinate lane closures, flagging operations, detours, pedestrian access, and work zone safety measures. Communicate with inspectors, owners, agencies, and prime contractors regarding MOT activities. Track labor, materials, equipment, and daily MOT activities. Assist with planning, estimating, and procurement of MOT materials and equipment. Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, photos, tickets, and compliance records. Ensure crews follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and work zone safety procedures. Respond to emergency MOT issues, including damaged signs, displaced devices, or unsafe traffic conditions. Qualifications Previous experience managing MOT, traffic control, roadway construction, or infrastructure construction operations. Knowledge of MUTCD standards and local/state DOT traffic control requirements. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, MOT plans, permits, and specifications. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and crews at one time. Field experience with lane closures, detours, flagging operations, and work zone safety. Valid driver's license required. MOT/TTC certification preferred or required depending on project location. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. Experience working with DOT, county, municipal, or utility projects is a plus. Spanish speaking preferred Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to visit active construction sites and work zones. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency callouts when required. Compensation Pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and certifications.
Pay:
$26.00 - $40.00 per hour
