Job Description
The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing our outbound transportation operations, including logistics planning, execution, and supervision of transportation staff/Class A drivers. This role involves managing relationships with carriers, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Resolve transportation-related issues and address customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Manage and negotiate contracts with transportation service providers and suppliers.
- Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet targets and goals.
- Supervise and manage transportation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation operations, safety, and environmental standards.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve transportation systems, processes, and tracking capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure optimal transportation network designs and support business objectives.
- Analyze transportation data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings, and enhanced customer service.
- Manage the transportation budget.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new regulations to drive innovation and ensure compliance.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency, bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as a transportation manager, logistics manager, or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other related software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on data-driven strategies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrated experience in managing transportation budgets and controlling costs.
- Familiarity with various transportation methods.
- Ability to travel as required to visit shop location, attend industry events, or meet with suppliers/clients.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to sit at the computer for extended periods of time.
