We operate a fleet of chauffeur driven luxury sedans, SUVs, Sprinter vans, Ford Transit vans, trolleys, motor coaches, and mini-coaches. Star is privately owned and operated, and has been in business since 1997. We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join our team. Responsibilities include managing the day to day maintenance of our commercial vehicles including:
  • Monitor fleet management software for maintenance items due
  • Issue work orders to mechanics, detailers, and other shop staff for service work, vehicle cleaning, or body work.
  • Ensuring vehicles are being repaired properly in a timely manner.
  • Scheduling DOT inspections
  • Follow up on driver pre or post trip inspection failures to ensure failed item(s) are repaired properly.
  • Conduct regular inspections of company vehicles to ensure vehicles meet standards for cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure company equipment and tools are being properly maintained
  • Communicate with dispatch when vehicles go out of service for maintenance
  • Ensure high performance of shop employees
  • Approve time-off and vacation requests for shop employees
  • Schedule shop employee work hours to suit the needs of the business
  • Work with current vendors and suppliers to ensure best pricing and service practices.
  • Be able to demonstrate above average knowledge of auto repair and auto mechanics.
  • Be able to work alongside shop staff as needed when assistance is needed to ensure vehicles are ready for our customers.
  • Other duties as needed.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced professional, with prior auto mechanics and management skills. Prefer the successful applicant has existing certifications in auto mechanics, and possess a Class A or B CDL as a good portion of our vehicles are passenger buses. 10 years or more of experience is also preferred.
