Transportation Supervisor

Our client, a national food distributor, is looking for a Transportation Supervisor to work in their facility in Hickory, NC. CDL A or B license highly preferred. Monday-Friday, start time at 12p Salary from $80,000, commensurate with experience. Annual bonus opportunity The Transportation Supervisor position will perform the following duties: Responsible for supervision and training of drivers at the operating facility; ensuring deliveries are made in safe, efficient and timely manner. Assists with monitoring DOT (Department of Transportation) logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and Company regulations/polices. Ensures all safety protocols are being followed. Supervises drivers to include, but not limited to: hiring, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution. Assists in scheduling as well as ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in a timely manner. Rides with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes. Coordinates tracking of all relevant information on drivers, such as license status, traffic tickets, accidents and other risk and safety-related data Ensures accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork including customer order invoices, DOT logs, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), accident/injury reporting Ensures reporting of maintenance of all trucks, tractors and trailers through detailed review of post-trip inspections

Experience and Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED CDL A or B license highly preferred Minimum 3 years transportation management experience overseeing drivers,including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations Food industry experience greatly preferred Experience with warehouse distribution
