Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a highly accountable, detail-obsessed Fleet Manager to take full ownership of our company fleet across multiple states. This is not a passive or maintenance role — this position requires someone who can build, track, enforce, and maintain complete compliance across every vehicle at all times . You will be responsible for ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks — from registrations and insurance to maintenance schedules, GPS tracking, fuel systems, and DOT compliance. If a vehicle is out of compliance, missed a service, or lacks proper documentation, it is a direct reflection of this role. This position requires frequent travel between North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio, including overnight stays . You must be comfortable operating independently, holding others accountable, and managing a high volume of responsibilities without constant oversight. Key Responsibilities Maintain 100% compliance across all fleet vehicles, including: Registrations Insurance DOT requirements Own and enforce preventative maintenance schedules — no missed services, no delays Ensure all DOT inspections are completed on time and properly documented Fully manage the WEX fuel card system , including: Assigning and tracking cards Adding and managing drivers Ensuring all receipts are uploaded and accounted for Oversee all GPS tracking systems , ensuring: Devices are active and functioning Vehicles are properly assigned and tracked Manage transponders/toll devices , ensuring accuracy and functionality Maintain real-time, accurate fleet records , including: Mileage Maintenance and repair history Registration and insurance tracking Conduct routine audits across all branches to verify compliance and condition of vehicles Identify gaps, risks, or inefficiencies and correct them immediately Hold field teams accountable for proper vehicle usage, documentation, and compliance Provide clear, consistent updates to leadership regarding fleet status and risks Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or multi-location operations Strong understanding of DOT regulations, vehicle compliance, and maintenance tracking Experience with WEX fuel systems, GPS tracking platforms, and fleet management software Exceptional attention to detail — you notice what others miss and fix it before it becomes an issue Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple systems, deadlines, and data points simultaneously Strong sense of ownership and accountability — you take responsibility for outcomes, not excuses Ability to work independently and drive results without constant direction Proficient in Excel and tracking systems Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight as needed Must complete background and drug screen Work Schedule & Travel Requirements Full-time position Travel required across NC, SC, VA, and OH Overnight stays required based on branch and fleet needs Why Join Our Team?
