Position Highlights:
We are rapidly expanding our fleet team, currently employing over 18 drivers and managing a fleet of more than 25 vehicles. We handle over 1000 daily deliveries and pickups. We are seeking a candidate to oversee driver performance, optimize routes, manage the company fleet, and coordinate overseas repairs, maintenance, and updates.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our driving team, ensuring timely deliveries, compliance with safety regulations, and efficient fleet management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Route Management:
- Plan and manage driver schedules, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and optimizing productivity.
- Utilize routing software and maintain contact with drivers.
Driver Support and Management:
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide support and address any concerns or issues that arise during their routes.
- Address driver concerns, provide guidance, and assist with over-the-road issues.
- Ensure drivers are up-to-date with required documents, such as driver's licenses, and coordinate drug tests and physicals.
- Recruit, train, and mentor drivers
- Manage driver performance and administer disciplinary action
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure drivers are aware of and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Play a role in ensuring driver safety and productivity.
Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with payroll and other administrative tasks related to driver management.
- Maintain accurate records related to vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and compliance documentation.
Customer Service:
- Contribute to ensuring excellent customer service by working with drivers to meet customer needs and expectations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve efficiency in load unloading processes.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting vehicle issues when necessary.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by drivers and related personnel.
- Monitor the fleet to ensure vehicles are in safe and working order and keep track of maintenance.
- Oversee the company's fleet.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in driver or fleet leadership is required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage schedules and optimize routes.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to trucking and driver safety.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Experience in driver recruitment, training, and performance management
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
