Position Summary:
Direct the UNM Hospitals transportation system, parking, motor pool and fleet management program. Oversee maintenance, acquisition, and disposal of bus fleet vehicles. Has primary responsibility for the planning and development of transportation and parking plans, objectives, standards, policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
VEHICLES
•Safely operate Hospitals vehicles in compliance with all city, State, Federal and University and departmental regulations and/or policies
TRANSPORTATION
•Direct, develop and implement the UNM Hospital transportation system including scheduling, maintenance, safety and compliance with all applicable accreditation requirements, State and Federal regulations
PLANNING
•Direct planning and development of UNMH transportation and parking policies and procedures, standards, objectives, and long-range plans
STANDARDS
•Establish specific standards and objectives for department; ensure implementation of and compliance with standards, objectives and operating policies and procedures
TRANSPORTATION
•Direct the process for acquisition and disposal of the UNMH vehicle fleet and motor pool REPORTS•Maintain reports and records; collect statistical data for administrative and/or quality improvement purposes; ensure documentation and record retention meets applicable hospital and regulatory requirements
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
•Establish competencies, training sessions, education programs for staff and managers; promote staff satisfaction and recognition activities
COMMITTEES AND MEETINGS
•Participate in hospital committees and meetings as required BUDGET•Oversee and develop departmental budget; allocate funds and resources within budget limits to accomplish objectives
