Job Description

Position Overview:
As the Transportation Manager your primary function will be to lead our large fast-paced food distribution warehouse. We are looking for a performance-driven, metric-focused, hands-on leader to manage and lead a team to operational excellence paired with exceptional service for our external and internal customers. A strong understanding of the logistics and transportation industry to be able to develop and implement annual business plans, strategies, business reviews, and P&L analysis.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and drive the day-to-day performance of your team through servant leadership and interaction with all driver and offices associates Experience in developing and leading a culture of Safety Drive continual improvement in all safety-related responsibilities throughout the transportation operations Coach a team of highly motivated associates and provide daily feedback on performance and propose solutions Ability to define and communicate to your team the daily objectives, long-term strategies, and changes in procedural processes Effectively work with peers on people development and building cross-functional teams Flexibility to work various shifts, as needed to include evenings, weekends, and holidays Able to work with suppliers and internal customers on the best possible solution for the business and company initiatives Use various metrics to analyze performance results Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of transportation operations Interview, hire, train, mentor, and motivate a team of associates Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 6:00am/7:00am start until job is done Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by the business
Compensation:
$90,000 - $110, 000
Environment:
Varying temperatures within warehouse operations
Experience:
Preferred:
Four (4) years of experience in Transportation Leadership or leadership role with direct reports
Preferred:
Knowledge of
DOT & FMCSA
regulations to include HOS and ELD management
Preferred:
Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc; Strong communication
Skills:
Ability to provide & receive constructive feedback; communication of expectations and directions clearly Building a team-based environment: Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation and team-building skills; inclusive decision making
Project Management:
Results driven regarding implemented KPI's/Metrics; willingness to participate in continuous improvement projects; managing multiple deadline-based projects
Quality:
Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
