Driver Manager

Responsibilities:

Manage drivers to ensure service, availability and productivity while balancing driver miles, home time, and performance. Consistently review Driver performance and take disciplinary action if necessary Trouble shooting problems for drivers (directions to customer locations, pick up/delivery numbers, etc.) Assisting with payroll issues (authorizing trip expenses, setting up vacation pay, processing forms to correct payroll problems, etc.) Managing a driver's miles by making sure the driver's time is used efficiently Approving and managing a driver's home time Monitor driver's Hours of Service (logging) for DOT compliance Utilize management tools to effectively track equipment throughout the system. Develop a strong relationship with drivers with a continued focus on driver retention. Act as the main point of contact for all driver facing communication via phone and e-mail Monitor shipments throughout transit to effectively meet delivery schedules Respond to customers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally Work cooperatively with customer service, sales and planner to provide solutions for customers' needs and resolve issues Provide feedback and suggestions on job specific procedures Requirements Must demonstrate attention to detail Self-driven and have a strong work ethic Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills.
