This role is responsible for coordinating transport activities, ensuring timely and compliant movement of patients, and continuously improving transport communication workflows. Under the direction of the Transport Coordinator Team Lead, the Liaison acts as a vital link between our internal departments (including dispatch and billing) and external healthcare partners. This role is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with contracted facilities and facilitating a smooth exchange of patient care directly in the field. Serves as the primary point of contact on facility complex or high-priority transport issues. Meets crew members in person and evaluates performance during the exchange of patient care. Transport Coordination Oversees the scheduling of transports at assigned healthcare facilities. Monitors transport status, flags potential delays, and communicates proactively with facilities. Ensures transport plans align closely with operational timelines and customer commitments. Maintains a presence in patient rooms and hallways to facilitate a smooth, efficient exchange of care. Facility Liaison & Operations Acts as the primary point of contact between internal departments (dispatch, billing, and other staff members) and contracted hospital facilities. Attends regular meetings with case managers and Newman's leadership staff to maintain strong relationships. Maintains accurate records of transportation and operational activities. Prepares and presents monthly transport performance reports when applicable for the Team Lead and Newman's management. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly under high-stress situations. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to make rapid, accurate decisions. High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and report preparation. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and follow the designated chain of command. Emotional resilience, adaptability, and a calm demeanor under pressure. Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch software, and basic data analysis. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in EMS, transportation, or logistics operations is preferred. An EMT certification or a healthcare background with an understanding of medical terminology is highly valued and preferred. Physical Requirements Position requires mobility to move between offices, patient rooms, and hospital hallways frequently. Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and adapt to both office (hybrid) and on-site clinical settings. Must have the physical stamina to conduct facility walkthroughs and meet with crews during long shifts.
