Work Arrangement:
Hybrid - In office 3 days per week Why Join Crowley? This opportunity offers the chance to make a difference by supporting the Defense Freight Transportations Services (DFTS) contract. Our coordinators all take pride in providing warfighter support. You will be responsible for the coordination of all warfighter essentials, tissues to tanks.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for coordinating and supporting customer transportation business requirements by developing and managing both carrier and customers to ensure requirements are met.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with shippers, consignees, vendors, agents, etc. to effectively manage each shipment. Negotiate and determine appropriate pricing based on volumes, service lanes and potential business for both carriers and customers. Work directly with new and existing carriers to obtain pricing. Certify pricing calculations for each client to meet the profit goals. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. Collaborate with the sales team to establish procedures and identify ways to grow business lanes. Monitor customer shipments and the quality control of carrier and performance. Develop and implement effective cost control measures, maintain records of quoted rates, monitor profitability, settle discrepancies, ensure correct billing and invoicing to customer for timely payment to carriers. Organize documentation, clearances, shipping mode, delivery, tracking and notifications. Maintain contact management system similar to CRM to determine established contacts. Develop and solicit new accounts via telephone or email while generating price quotes, coordinating scheduling, entering orders and negotiating rates with carriers. Manage end-to-end cargo and freight claims, including investigation, liability assessment, resolution, and recovery. Review and validate claim documentation (PODs, BOLs, invoices, photos, inspections) and maintain accurate system records for tracking and audits. Support loss mitigation and root cause analysis to reduce repeat claims.
Qualifications Education & Credentials:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or a related field preferred. Ability to obtain a CAC Card. US Citizen.
Experience:
1 year or less experience in truck dispatching import/export transportation, customer service, negotiations or other related experience. 1 or more years of experience in cargo claims, freight claims, claims recovery, or related logistics/transportation role preferred. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity. Preferred experience in processing Over, Short and Damaged (OS&D) claims. Ability to manage multiple claims, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
