Smart Culture Award Opportunity Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator is meant to be a contact person for the drivers. This position provides a variety of administrative support functions for transportation operations, while acting as a liaison with delivery drivers and a telephone service contact for the customers.
Work Schedule:
Second Shift = 3pm to 11:30pm with flexible Sunday PM Shift Schedule flexibility required based on business demands
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:
Answer incoming phone calls and attempt to resolve transportation problems. Track drivers as routing problems occur and possible haul backs. Inform Transportation Supervisor of concerns and/or problems. Maintain records and train drivers for proper completion of driver logs to ensure legal operating schedules. Issue handcarts, locks and other equipment to drivers. Schedule proper repair on equipment when necessary. Provide backup for driver check-in. Coordinate and assign all special runs. Run various reports and review daily. Other duties may be assigned.
What will you bring:
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Bachelor's degree preferred Experience
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Required Skills or Abilities
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and FMCSA guidelines, OSHA regulations, technical skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point), engineered labor standards and systems, voice selection technology (Lucas), JD Edwards, Samsara, communication skills, flexibility to cover shifts, excellent organizational skills, truck terminology.
