This is a management position performing routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the Maintenance Department while keeping to the company's mission. The Commercial Fleet Manager ensures that the image of our company is reflected in the appearance and condition of our equipment and facilities. This position is to maintain the company's high safety standards and extend the life of our assets. A manager requires a good sense of responsibility to lead and manage others with the ability to motivate staff and promote a harmonious workplace.

Requirements:
Essential Functions Manage the staff to achieve goals; plan and organize workloads and staff assignments/schedules to ensure the most effective use of staff. Participate in the interview and hiring approval process. Train, counsel, motivate, communicate job expectations, and evaluate staff. Conduct annual performance evaluations with staff, review progress, and direct changes as needed. Give recommendations on advancements and disciplinary actions to the General Manager. Communicates constrictive verbal coaching, and reinforce positive behaviors in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Coordinate with the General Manager or the local HR Manager when responding to severe employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. Manage Fleet Management software including, but not limited to reviewing the data entered, following up on issues, and ensuring compliance with the company, DOT, federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Promptly and accurately produce reports, review data, and follow up on issues ensuring compliance with the company DOT, federal, state, and locale rules/regulations in both the Fleet Management software and paper files. Maintain all records to DOT standards. Train staff on the use of the Fleet Management software and in proper completion of paper files. Maintain parts inventory. Ensure all parts necessary for the scheduled vehicle preventative maintenance are in stock. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as a team member within the scope of established rules and regulations. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, employee relations, and investigation. Ability to make a budget, determine how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures. Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work identifying the best people for the job. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Management experience preferred.
ASE or comparable certifications required:
Auto Brakes and Preventative Maintenance Inspection Additional ASE Certifications and ASE Master Certifications preferred. Valid TN Class B with passenger and air-brake endorsement (will train to acquire a CDL. Must obtain a CDL in the first three months of employment) Acceptable driving record for past three years. Other Requirements Must pass pre-employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing Valid DOT physical required. Must supply own hand tools and toolboxes. Tools must meet or exceed minimum tool list.
