Terminal Superintendent - (Dole Fresh Fruit)

Job Summary The Terminal Superintendent supervises all vessel and yard activities including gate and dock operations at the Dole Container terminal. The incumbent will monitor and work closely with the Stevedore Manager in the discharge and loading of vessels. Job Description and Responsibilities Provide supervision to the stevedores in the discharge and loading of our container vessels and yard operations. Prepares the necessary reports from Spinnaker and Mainsail for the stevedore to perform the vessel operation. Ensure timely dispatch of cargo and provide assistance on resolving problems by supervising yard labor force to provide an efficient terminal operation. Communicate with Sales and Dole Ocean Cargo Express (DOCE) on all shipments and receiving of fruit loads to coordinate bills or transfers to be dispatched. Runs Cognos reports (fruit inventories, Interline, Equipment, etc.) and send to various departments to support the Operations and Terminal Manager in the decision-making process. Prepare equipment damage and incident reports andsendto traffic departments and M&R for repairs. Maintain the upkeep of the facility and schedule repairs as needed with the approval of the Operations Manager. Function as Facility Security Officer or Alternate Facility Security Officer. Assist the Terminal Superintendent of Cargo and the Cargo Coordinator as needed (including but not limited to proprietary warehouse operations i.e. linerboard). Qualifications and Experience Knowledge of stevedoring practices, container, yard vessel operations, labor relations, and supervision in performing facets of the operation required. Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license while employed is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint to create reports is required. Knowledge of Tideworks's Spinnaker and Mainsail systems, Vilden's Norton Lilly Systems AMS system, JDEOne World and Tranship preferred. Must have the capabilities to continue to learn and be able to use Company proprietary software. Knowledge of Cargo Importation and Exportation preferred HazMat Cargo Certification preferred Knowledge of Customs Brokerage and Labor Relations preferred Bend, reach, pull, push, scoot, climb ladders, work in a coldenvironmentandlift50 pounds. Climb stairs and traversing uneven surfaces Work at heights,i.e.cranes, gangways, etc. Sit, walk, and stand forlong periodsof time. Work in a warehouse setting or field locations Includes working around heavy equipment such as forklifts, tow-motors, etc. Occasionally be exposed to wet and /or humid conditions. Ability to work on vessels and loading docks. Noise level of the environment is often loud. Use computer(s), communication and related equipment and software effectively. Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays to cover 24/7 operations is required. Occasionally travelling to other port/terminals maybe required.
