Job Description
Blackland Transport is looking for an Assistant Manager/Lead Driver ! We are a company contracted with FedEx Ground and Home Delivery. We need an experienced manager to assist with a combination of delivery driving and assisting the Terminal Manager in the day-to-day management of terminal operations. Specific responsibilities as assigned by the Terminal Manager (BC), involving the day-to-day management including:
- Report to duty everyday no later than 7:30 am and lead the dispatching of drivers from the terminal including; ensuring drivers are present for routes, have all required equipment in good working order, assisting in finding and loading all assigned packages, and identifying solutions to make sure all packages are delivered.
- On assigned nights (2-3/week), own the review, edit and confirmation in DRO of routes and drivers for the next day's operations.
- Be available to resolve all on-route driver issues, as well as customer or FedEx issues; include addressing performance issues.
- Assist in managing, tracking, and maintaining trucks and other Blackland assets committed to the Hurricane operations, including proactive maintenance, inspections, and tracking of scanners & iPads.
- Manage driver compliance with all required policies including Groundcloud, Safety Training, My-Biz, Pre-and-Post Trip Inspections, and addressing VEDR events.
- Above all else responsible along with the Terminal Manager for operating a safe and productive operation in the Terminal.
Delivery drivers must:
Be 21 years of age or older. Have a valid driver license and clean driving record. (No more than 1 minor violation in the last three years.) Pass a pre-employment drug screen and ongoing random drug screens. (THC is a dealbreaker per FedEx guidelines) Pass a DOT physical Pass a background check Possess customer service skills.
