Job Description

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look LikeIdentify and develop new business opportunities for the Wisconsin Transportation Group.

Provide training and mentorship for the Wisconsin Transportation Group (approximately 8 employees and growing).Be accountable to client managers and technical staff regarding the pursuit of business development and marketing opportunities in Wisconsin.

Assist other discipline and practice leads with business development efforts based on existing client relationships.

Collaborate with leadership and Human Resources on staffing needs, utilization, hiring, and training initiatives.

Maintain frequent contact with clients in Milwaukee County and surrounding areas, monitor client satisfaction, and ensure timely responses to client needs.

Help prepare project-specific proposals and participate in project interviews.

Engage prospective clients, understand their challenges, and identify opportunities to support them.

Work closely with the Transportation Group Leader to monitor Wisconsin Transportation Group billings and marketing expenses.

Complete or participate in the design of civil engineering projects as needed.

Education / Certification RequirementsBachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Wisconsin.

Must-Haves - What You Will Bring20+ years of experience in the design and project management of transportation, structural, stormwater, or general civil projects.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and proposals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Excellent technical writing skills.

Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred QualificationsExperience with WisDOT projects and standards preferred.

CompensationSalary range: $140,000-$165,000Actual compensation will be based on factors including skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
