About Us A Team Delivery Inc. is an established FedEx Contracted Service Provider with operations at the Oshkosh, WI terminal. We are building a high-performing team and are looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to serve as the Business Contact (BC) and lead our day-to-day delivery operations. Position Summary The Operations Manager / BC is the primary on site leader responsible for the daily execution of FedEx pick-up and delivery services. You will manage a team of approximately 20 drivers, oversee fleet readiness, optimize routes, enforce safety and compliance standards, and serve as the primary liaison between the company and FedEx terminal management.
This is a player-coach role:
you will lead from the front, stepping into a route when needed and building a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations & Route Management Ensure all P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and packages are delivered on time daily Create and assign routes nightly in DRO; optimize routes to maintain minimum stop thresholds and maximize revenue per route Monitor daily service metrics including on-time delivery, scan compliance, service failures, and missed pickups; take immediate corrective action as needed Coordinate daily dispatch operations, manage driver communication, and resolve real-time delivery issues throughout the day Attend and actively participate in daily terminal meetings with FedEx Terminal Managers and P&D management Serve as a contingency driver in the event of call-offs, driver shortages, heavy volume, or other unforeseen circumstances Driver Management & Team Leadership Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new drivers to ensure full staffing across all routes; maintain a bench of qualified part-time / contingency drivers Conduct driver performance coaching, corrective action, and terminations as necessary in partnership with ownership Ensure all drivers complete required safety training on schedule, including monthly safety meetings and FedEx-mandated modules Build and maintain a positive team culture with high retention; foster accountability, mutual respect, and a strong work ethic Coordinate with other FedEx contractors in the building to establish mutual-aid relationships for peak periods and emergencies Safety & Compliance Champion FedEx's "Safety Above All" culture across the entire operation Ensure strict compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), Pre-Trip / Post-Trip vehicle inspections, and all FedEx Ground policies Manage and maintain accurate records for driver qualifications (CDL/MVR), drug testing, physicals, and personnel files Investigate accidents, injuries, and service incidents; file reports promptly and implement corrective measures Ensure all vehicles display required DOT markings and maintain current inspection stickers Fleet & Equipment Management Oversee a fleet of approximately 20-22 delivery vehicles; coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime Maintain complete and up-to-date vehicle maintenance logs, registration records, and inspection documentation Manage relationships with local mechanics and maintenance vendors; ensure cost-effective and timely repairs Monitor fleet condition, fuel usage, and equipment readiness; escalate capital needs to ownership proactively Administrative & Reporting Maintain timesheets accurately for payroll processing; ensure compliance with wage and hour requirements Provide regular operational reports to ownership covering route performance, staffing, fleet status, compliance, and financial metrics Assist with onboarding paperwork, background checks, drug screening coordination, and new-hire documentation Manage communication with FedEx Ground customer service, sales, and pickup coordination teams to resolve customer-facing issues Support peak-season planning, including volume forecasting, staffing ramp-up, and equipment readiness Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable Must pass a background check, drug test, and DOT physical Physically able to drive aP-1000 / P-1200
step van and deliver packages to residential and commercial addresses (lifting up to 150 lbs) Available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, occasional evenings, and Saturdays during peak season; this is not a 9-5 role 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in logistics, transportation, delivery operations, or a fast-paced operational environment Strongly Preferred Prior FedEx Ground experience as a BC, manager, or driver with at least one peak season Experience with DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization) and FedEx systems (GroundCloud) Familiarity with DOT compliance, ELD/HOS regulations, and fleet maintenance scheduling Experience managing 15+ drivers and/or 10+ routes simultaneously What We're Looking For A player-coach mentality - willing to jump on a route, load a truck, or solve a problem alongside the team Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a business-ownership mindset Excellent communication skills for working with FedEx terminal staff, drivers, and ownership Calm, decisive problem-solving under pressure - things change fast in last-mile delivery Dogged determination and resourcefulness; when a route needs coverage, you find a way Reliable follow-up and follow-through on tasks, commitments, and corrective actions A positive attitude that inspires others and builds a winning team culture Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary, depending on experience Weekly performance bonuses tied to service metrics (ILS, safety, profit sharing, etc.) Health, dental, and vision insurance available after 30 days Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) retirement plan Direct impact role: your leadership directly determines the daily success and profitability of the operation Growth opportunity: ground-floor position with a growing multi-entity logistics companyPay:
