Company Overview Ozark Conservation Corps , a program of Community Training Works, Inc. is a dedicated environmental conservation organization committed to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities through education and hands-on experience. We focus on improving public lands, roads, and waterways by engaging community members in meaningful conservation work. Job Overview Join our dynamic Trail Crew team and play a vital role in maintaining and restoring outdoor recreational spaces in Northwest Arkansas. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop valuable skills in trail construction and maintenance, all while contributing to the health of public lands. Our first site will be building new mountain bike trails. Be prepared for active days filled with physical work, teamwork, and hands-on environmental impact. Responsibilities Crew Member $17/hr Assist in building, repairing, and maintaining hiking trails using hand tools and power tools to ensure safe and sustainable access for visitors Perform ecological restoration activities such as invasive species removal, habitat enhancement, and erosion control Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including tree care, trimming, pruning, and general site cleanup Operate and maintain hand tools and power equipment including shovels, hoes, chainsaws, compactors, and mini excavators (tillers). Construct trail features such as berms, roller, bridge, rock gardens, jumps and technical section. Clear vegetation, shape trail tread and manage drainage systems. Operate GPS devices and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for data collection and trail mapping projects Operate and maintain hand tools and power equipment including shovels, hoes, chainsaws, compactors, and mini excavators (tillers). Support heavy lifting tasks involving rocks, soil, or trail materials to facilitate construction projects Work with volunteers, riders, park staff and contractors during trail projects Use commercial driving skills to operate utility vehicles or trucks for transporting materials and equipment Collect data on trail conditions and ecological features to support ongoing restoration efforts Crew Leader $18-23/hr DOE All of the above Supervise/oversee crew of 4 Report on crew hours, miles improved Report into office daily Drive 2025 Chevy Silverado truck from meeting spot to job sites Requirements - Crew Member Must be between 18 - 35 years of age Prior experience or training in landscaping, land management, or ecological restoration is preferred for Crew Member, required for Crew Leader, enthusiasm for outdoor work is essential Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, long periods of standing or walking, and working in varying weather conditions. Must be able to carry 45 pounds and hike through various terrains fro 1 - 5 miles. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, GPS devices, and GIS technology is a plus Strong teamwork skills with the ability to supervise or follow instructions effectively Knowledge of bike trails maintenance, tree care practices such as trimming and pruning is advantageous Commitment to environmental conservation principles and safety protocols Requirements - Crew Leader Prior experience or training in trail maintenance, trail building, landscaping, land management, bike trails experience as rider or ecological restoration is required for Crew Leader, enthusiasm for outdoor work is essential Valid driver's license with commercial driving experience preferred for operating larger vehicles required for Crew Leader. Must be commercially insurable drivers license Prior experience supervising crew a must.
