In this role you will drive a van and tow an ice cream trailer, serve ice cream and oversee other employees on the truck and catering events.
About us:
We are an enthusiastic team operating ice cream trucks, catering carts and shops in Hermosa Beach and El Segundo. Founded in 2020. Our team is growing and we participate in events and catering at 800 events per year across greater Los Angeles. We work hard, have fun and care about our staff's well-being.
About the role:
This role is physically demanding, requires strong communication skills, problem solving in fast paced environments, and is rewarding. You will work with a great team, travel throughout Los Angeles, meet people from across the city and experience many different types of events. The main responsibilities of this position are… Reading and following detailed event and service instructions Stocking our ice cream trailer and catering cart at our warehouse in Culver City Towing a trailer to private catering and public events around greater Los Angeles Greeting our clients or hosts Setting up the truck or cart including ice cream machines, POS, cups, spoons, napkins, etc Taking orders, payment, and scooping and serving ice cream Sometimes managing other staff on the ice cream truck or cart Cleaning the trailer or cart and driving back to the warehouse Updating the team about how the event went You are a great candidate if you… Have experience with catering or front of house restaurant work Enjoy serving and speaking with customers Want each day to be different from the last Are capable of problem-solving and fast-paced situations Are happy working alone and in a team Work well with others, as a teammate and supervisor Are a timely and clear communicator over text message, phone and in person Have a strong work ethic Are detail oriented and can follow instructions carefully Can handle a physically demanding work environment Love ice cream! In this role, you can expect… A welcoming and supportive team Full, paid training To receive by Wednesday your shifts for the following week A mostly full-time role but with varying hours week-to-week A busier schedule in the warm months To work most weekend days Variable shift hours, usually 7-8 hours in length Some overtime shifts (8-12 hours) Hours You will need to be available on weekend days and week days Your shift times/days will change week-to-week You can expect 24-40 hours of work per week (closer to 40 in the summer months) In the winter time, there will be less work (which we will discuss during the interview process) Requirements Clean driving record Be able to lift 90lbs Must be able to accept all shifts allocated to you for the upcoming week Experience driving large vehicles or towing a trailer is preferred but not required, or otherwise be willing to learn (we will teach you as we have done with previous team members) You will receive... A training wage of $20/hr, then an hourly wage of $22-35/hr after tips increasing with your experience Experience serving customers in different parts of Los Angeles, including some celebrities, universities, large companies, charity events, local festivals, and more!
