(See more at macombertree.com) Role Overview We're expanding our services by launching a dedicated Plant Health Care (PHC) department , and we're looking for an experienced Plant Health Care Foreman / Crew Leader to lead the charge. This role blends technical expertise , leadership , and hands-on plant and landscape care , providing an exciting opportunity to shape a new department and mentor a growing team. This position is ideal for someone with strong PHC experience and leadership ability who can offer insight, direction, and standards for delivering top-tier plant health services. Key Responsibilities As a Plant Health Care Foreman / Crew Leader you will: Supervise and lead PHC crews in delivering high-quality plant health services including diagnostics, treatments, fertilization, pest and disease management, and soil health practices. Develop work plans, job schedules, and treatment protocols tailored to client sites and plant needs. Train, mentor, and develop plant health care technicians to increase crew capability and reliability. Evaluate plant health conditions and propose science-based treatment solutions. Ensure all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards are upheld on every job. Maintain accurate service documentation, treatment records, chemical logs, and equipment inventories. Collaborate with the management team to grow and refine the new PHC department. Hiring managers often expect experienced PHC leaders to guide teams in diagnostic monitoring, application methods, and crew organization. Basic Job Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have:
Experience & Technical Skills:
Minimum 3-5+ years of professional plant health care, arboriculture, or related landscape services experience (including diagnosis of pests/diseases, soil health, and PHC treatments). Demonstrated leadership or crew supervision experience. Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM), pesticide/fertilizer application equipment, and treatment planning. Ability to interpret plant health issues and create practical onsite solutions. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. ISA or related certifications preferred; pesticide applicator licensure a plus (or willingness to obtain).
Physical & Work Requirements:
Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle tools and equipment safely. Strong communication and organization skills to lead crews and interact with clients professionally. Proficiency with basic records and reporting (paper or digital). Commitment to safety-first work practices. Pay:
$26.11 - $31.44 per hour
