This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong forklift skills, lumberyard experience, and the ability to manage inventory, receiving, and delivery preparation. Responsibilities Safely and efficiently load delivery trucks with lumber and building materials.
- Receive, inspect, unload, and organize incoming shipments from suppliers.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with inventory counts.
- Ensure delivery packages are complete, accurate, and ready for shipment.
- Assign lumber packages and work orders to yard pullers.
- Supervise daily yard operations and maintain an organized, efficient work environment.
- Coordinate with sales staff, drivers, and warehouse personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor material storage and yard safety procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of lumberyard, building supply, warehouse, or related experience.
- Excellent forklift operating skills.
- Experience receiving and unloading flatbed trucks and supplier deliveries.
- Experience loading delivery trucks accurately and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of lumber and building materials.
- Inventory control and warehouse organization experience.
- Ability to read orders and verify material quantities and descriptions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work throughout the day. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous foreman, lead yard associate, or warehouse supervisor experience. What We Offer
