In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of freight movement, ensuring seamless logistics flow across our supply chain. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize fleet management, and uphold safety standards, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence operational excellence and contribute to the overall success of our logistics network. Duties Supervise daily transportation activities, including dispatching, freight routing, and delivery schedules to meet operational goals. Manage transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments, inventory levels, and supply chain analytics. Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to ensure timely freight movement and compliance. Oversee warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, and inventory control processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. Lead process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Monitor profit & loss statements, budgeting, and procurement activities related to transportation expenses. Supervise warehouse staff involved in freight handling, order fulfillment, forklift operation, and materials management. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, transportation regulations, and company policies while maintaining high standards of quality in logistics operations. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse supervision combined with transportation management expertise. Strong background in supply chain management including inventory management, production planning, demand planning, and logistics coordination. Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as ERP systems (e.g., AS400), TMS platforms, and supply chain analytics software. Demonstrated success in supervising teams within fast-paced environments involving freight shipping & receiving, dispatching, and fleet management. Knowledge of 3PL operations, NVOCC procedures, procurement processes, and warehouse distribution strategies. Ability to analyze data for process improvement opportunities using lean principles and continuous improvement techniques. Excellent organizational skills with experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and procurement activities. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts within a warehouse setting preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments including purchasing, production planning, and operations management.
