- CDL A Driver to lead our dedicated transportation team.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations of the CDL A driving fleet, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of goods. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize logistics workflows, and foster a safety-first culture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team of professional drivers while coordinating with warehouse and supply chain operations to meet organizational goals. Your expertise in transportation management systems, fleet management, and supply chain processes will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of CDL A drivers, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies Oversee transportation planning, dispatching, and route optimization to maximize efficiency and reduce costs Monitor freight movements, shipping & receiving schedules, and inventory control to ensure timely delivery and order fulfillment Implement process improvements using lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational workflows Manage transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and warehouse management systems for seamless logistics operations Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on inventory management, warehouse distribution, procurement, and materials management Conduct regular safety audits, driver performance evaluations, and training sessions to uphold safety standards and driver compliance Oversee budget management related to fleet operations, procurement, and logistics expenses while maintaining profit & loss accountability Lead efforts in supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost savings within the logistics network Skills Proven supervising experience within transportation or logistics environments with strong leadership capabilities Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, demand planning, production planning, and procurement Proficiency with transportation planning tools, freight management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400 Strong understanding of 3PL (third-party logistics), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and freight forwarding operations Expertise in fleet management, dispatching, shipping & receiving processes, and warehouse distribution strategies Ability to analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools for continuous process improvement Familiarity with forklift operation certification and warehouse experience is preferred Excellent skills in budgeting, procurement procedures, materials management, and inventory control techniques Join us as we drive operational excellence through innovative logistics solutions!
