Job Summary The Driver Supervisor is responsible for leading, training, and supporting a team of delivery drivers who operate under a chauffeur license (non-CDL). The Driver Supervisor ensures delivery operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards while providing leadership and support to the driver team. The Driver Supervisor also leads by example in safety compliance and customer service expectations. Responsibilities Train and onboard new drivers, including conducting road tests to ensure adherence to company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations. Ensure all drivers are knowledgeable about delivery routes, procedures, and customer service expectations. Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions. Participate in the interview process to assess potential driver candidates. Promote a positive and professional work environment among the driver team. Support driver scheduling, including reassigning routes in cases of absences. Oversee delivery routes and make real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction, collaborating with the Sales Manager to determine stop sequencing and align with customer operating hours. Support drivers with troubleshooting and resolving route or delivery issues, including escalated delivery concerns, in real time. Support delivery completion during staffing shortages or peak periods. Act as a liaison between drivers and warehouse/dispatch teams. Ensure all drivers comply with applicable DOT and state regulations for non-CDL drivers. Check in drivers upon return from routes, following established standard operating procedures. Review, scan, and upload pre-trip inspection sheets to maintain compliance and accurate records. Conduct frequent spot-check ride-alongs to evaluate driving habits and customer service standards. Assist in reviewing and addressing driver safety violations, collaborating with the Distribution Center Manager and Fleet Coordinator as necessary. Conduct driver performance evaluations and provide targeted coaching, retraining, and development feedback to maintain safety and high delivery standards. Maintain records of driver training, incidents, and performance evaluations while monitoring driver performance to address issues or escalate concerns as needed in collaboration with the Distribution Center Manager. Report performance metrics and driver issues to the Distribution Center Manager. Coordinate all fleet maintenance and repair needs with the Fleet Coordinator and promptly report any issues or service requirements for approval. Distribute renewed rental contracts weekly for all rental vehicles. Distribute and stock seasonal supplies for each truck (e.g., salt, safety blankets). Support warehouse operations as needed to ensure smooth workflow. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform other related duties, including special projects, as required. Required Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of local and state driving regulations applicable to non-CDL drivers. Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of drivers effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, warehouse staff, and management. Ability to think quickly and resolve route, vehicle, or personnel issues in real-time. Ability to manage schedules, track performance, and maintain accurate records. Understanding of local delivery routes with the ability to support route optimization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism in all responsibilities. Education and Experience Valid chauffeur license with a clean driving record. Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification. Ability to maintain insurability under the company's vehicle insurance policy. Minimum 2 years of experience in delivery driving, preferably in wholesale or logistics. Prior leadership or training experience preferred.
