•Monday-Thursday, 7:00am to 5:30pm.•Responsible for supervising the County's Junk Vehicle Retrieval program; investigating, enforcing and resolving citizen complaints about violations of the Yellowstone County Community Decay Ordinance; does related work as required. Class Spec Details Management:
Trains, schedules, prioritizes and evaluates the work of the Junk Vehicle Retrieval Program employees; Confers with the Road & Bridge Director to determine administrative and technical support needs and services for the Junk Vehicle Retrieval Program; Supervises preventive maintenance program for Junk Vehicle Retrieval equipment; Responds to and investigates complaints of junked or abandoned vehicle violations and coordinates retrieval and disposal; Receives and processes complaints, inquiries and violations of the County's Unified Zoning Regulations and Community Decay Ordinance;
Operations:
Develops goals, plans and measurements of performance for the operations of the Junk Vehicle Program in consultation with the Road & Bridge Director; Plans, organizes, and supervises the retrieval, storage and disposal operations and activities of the Junk Vehicle program; Maintains accurate and complete records of operations by diary, daily reports, and/or material usage reports; Supervises the enforcement of laws governing junk and abandoned vehicles and vehicle wrecking facilities;
Miscellaneous:
Assesses abandoned vehicles for towing companies and wrecking facilities upon request; Attends meetings, conferences and workshops as requested and authorized; Performs related work as required.
Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Planning or Urban Design or closely related field; and One (1) years' experience in code enforcement including zoning codes, motor vehicle retrieval and disposal including supervisory experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling five (5) years.
Certifications:
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.
Required:
Must pass a criminal and driving background check and meet any County-specific employment eligibility standards.
