POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day transportation operations. This includes supervising routing, dispatch, driver training, and fleet safety. The role supports efficient delivery operations that align with company standards for service, safety, and compliance. The Supervisor works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, high-quality performance from the transportation team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and support routing and dispatch processes to ensure consistent and timely deliveries Coach and guide drivers on safety standards, DOT compliance, and performance expectations Provide cross-training to ensure adequate staffing during absences and operational demands Review and maintain driver documentation including logs, licenses, and DOT cards Respond to customer delivery concerns in coordination with other departments Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a culture of safety awareness Audit driver performance and administer coaching, discipline, or recognition as needed Work with leadership to identify opportunities for route optimization and cost control Coordinate closely with sales and customer service to manage delivery changes and delays Participate in incident investigations and help implement corrective actions Utilize routing tools such as Roadnet, Green Mile, and WMS to track delivery performance Support the development and implementation of operational procedures and improvements Ensure full compliance with transportation regulations and company standards Provide leadership and supervision to the Transportation team, including: Interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees Assigning work and scheduling shifts Conducting performance evaluations and coaching sessions Managing employee relations and resolving conflicts Supporting employee development through training and mentorship

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Highschool Diploma or equivalent Minimum of three years experience in transportation or logistics operations Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Understanding of DOT and safety compliance standards Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation software systems Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field Previous supervisory experience in transportation or foodservice distribution Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus CDL license or prior commercial driving experience is a plus
