Landscape Foreman - Organically Green (Port Jefferson, NY) Organically Green , a high‑end residential plant health care and landscape company in Port Jefferson, NY, is seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman to lead field crews in delivering exceptional, environmentally responsible services. We specialize in organic‑based plant health care, sustainable landscape practices, and premium client experiences. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise landscape crews on daily job assignments, ensuring high‑quality workmanship and efficiency Perform and oversee tasks including planting, pruning, bed maintenance, mulching, weeding, and seasonal cleanups Ensure all work aligns with Organically Green's organic and environmentally conscious standards Communicate professionally with clients, crew members, and management Train and mentor crew members on proper horticultural techniques and safety practices Conduct daily equipment checks and ensure proper use and maintenance Assist with scheduling, job planning, and on‑site problem solving Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time tracking Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper handling of organic and low‑impact products Support plant health care operations as needed Qualifications 2-4+ years of landscape or horticulture experience , with at least 1 year in a leadership or crew lead role Strong knowledge of plant identification, pruning techniques, and landscape maintenance best practices Experience working in high‑end residential environments preferred NYS Pesticide Applicator Certification (Category 3A or 3B) strongly preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to environmentally responsible and organic‑based landscape practices Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and operate equipment for extended periods Ability to safely use hand tools, power equipment, and landscape machinery Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday Work Environment & Schedule Typical work day ranges between 10-12 hours per day. Start time as early as 5:30am depending on the day.
