Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Driver Supervisor at
LIFECARE ALLIANCE
is responsible for the direct daily supervision of both paid and volunteer Meals-on-Wheels delivery drivers. This role involves ensuring coverage of all Meals-on-Wheels routes, as well as interviewing, hiring, and evaluating drivers. The Driver Supervisor also monitors documentation to meet funder requirements, ensuring compliance and efficiency in operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, daily supervision of the Meals-on-Wheels delivery staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Conduct interviews, hire, schedule, and evaluate drivers to maintain a high-performing team. Approve driver time and mileage reports and manage time-off requests. Address and resolve driver issues promptly and effectively. Train new drivers and develop monthly meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing development and compliance. Maintain thorough documentation to meet funder requirements and organizational standards. Utilize strong customer relations skills to interact with a diverse group of individuals, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders. Apply general knowledge of Human Resources standards in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of Franklin County streets and efficient delivery techniques to optimize route planning and execution. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and instructions.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field
Required Experience:
3 to 5 years experience in a supervisory position 2 years experience working with volunteers Strong customer relations experience Ability to multi-task effectively Detail-oriented with basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Required Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of Human Resources standards, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary procedures Knowledge of Franklin County streets and efficient delivery techniques Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a diverse group of individuals
