Hardscape & Landscape Crew Leader

Company Overview Ingold Landscaping is a family-owned landscape construction company serving Cumberland and Dauphin Counties (including Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, and Harrisburg). We specialize in high-end hardscaping—paver patios, retaining walls, walkways, and outdoor living spaces—along with planting bed installation, advanced drainage solutions, and landscape maintenance. Position Overview We're hiring an experienced construction lead to run job sites alongside the owner. This is a boots-on-the-ground role with real responsibility, managing a small crew (1-2 members) and ensuring every project meets our quality standards. You will have consistent, full-time hours in a hands-on environment where your craftsmanship is noticed and valued.

What You'll Do:

Hardscape Installation:

Install paver patios, walkways, and segmental retaining walls.

Site Grading & Drainage:

Shoot grades, establish proper elevations, set base course depths, manage drainage slopes, and install underground drainage solutions (like French drains or catch basins).

Equipment & Hauling:

Operate heavy equipment (skid steers and excavators) for excavation and grading. Use hand tools and masonry saws. Safely load, secure, and haul materials using company trucks and dump trailers.

Landscape Enhancement:

Perform bed edging, mulching, shrub pruning, and seasonal cleanups.

Crew & Job Management:

Lead a small crew through daily tasks, keep jobs on schedule, and utilize our software (Jobber) to clock hours, review job notes, and track progress.

Communication:

Communicate directly with the owner on project progress and material needs, and act as a professional face of the company for our clients on-site.

What We're Looking For:

Valid Driver's License:

This is an absolute requirement, along with a clean driving record. Experience towing and backing up heavy dump trailers is strictly required.

No Mowing-Only Candidates:

We do not offer mowing services. If your past experience is primarily lawn maintenance, you will not be considered for this role.

Hardscape Requirement:

3+ years of hands-on landscape construction experience. Paver and retaining wall installation experience is mandatory.

Grading & Equipment Requirement:

Must be proficient in operating a skid steer to independently shoot grades, set elevations, and execute proper site grading for hardscape foundations.

Technical Skills:

Ability to read a simple site plan, calculate material needs, and work independently.

Work Ethic:

Reliable, physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs consistently, and takes immense pride in the finished product.

What We Offer:

Pay:

$22 - $28 per hour to start, based on experience.

Overtime:

Time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40/week.

Full-time hours, consistent work.
