DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position assists with planning, coordinating, and reviewing maintenance activities within an assigned area, including paving, repairs, snow removal, and resource allocation. Your primary responsibilities will entail inspecting work quality, improving communication, and supporting crews in completing projects safely and efficiently. As a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
Work Planning:
Prepare plans and estimates for maintenance tasks such as paving, patching, widening, and snow removal
Resource Allocation:
Recommend the use of equipment, materials, and staffing to meet program goals
Field Inspection:
Check ongoing and finished work to ensure policy, quality, and plan compliance
Communication Support:
Meet with employees, officials, union representatives, and property owners to explain operations and resolve concerns
Process Improvement:
Support new methods, review complaints, and help improve production and quality
Safety Leadership:
Promote safe practices, monitor conditions, and encourage accident prevention measures
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Dual shifts effective November through March.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
