What to Expect
Tesla Inc is seeking an experienced operations supervisor to lead overnight logistics activities for our internal trucking program. The Internal Trucking Fleet Supervisor will report directly to the Associate Manager of Internal Trucking and will provide on-site management of vehicle logistics, drivers, and support staff during overnight operations. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing real-time dispatch coordination, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining seamless communication between drivers, logistics teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of working directly with drivers while managing complex, time-sensitive operations in a 24/7 logistics environment. What You'll Do
Supervise overnight driver teams including scheduling, route planning, and Hours-of-Service compliance. Drive safety and compliance initiatives per DOT, FMCSR, and Tesla policies
Monitor and coach driver performance on KPIs including productivity, efficiency, safety, and damage metrics. Serve as liaison between Dispatch and drivers for load distribution and real-time issue resolution
Ensure regulatory compliance including Daily Log, Geotab, pre-trip reporting, and DVIR
Communicate policy changes, payroll, dispatch updates, and benefit information to drivers and staff
Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment availability for overnight operations
Analyze safety and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and track resolutions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Logistics, Sales, Service, and Delivery Operations What You'll Bring
3-5 years experience in logistics operations or warehouse management (OEM experience preferred)
Team management experience of 30+ people preferred
Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience
Familiarity with DOT, FMCSR, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations
Proficient with MS Office Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Result-oriented with ability to manage ambiguous situations
Must be able to accept overnight/night shift work schedules. Willingness to work flexible hours in a 24/7 logistics environment Compensation and Benefits
